Nell Bank won the final of the National Lottery Environment Project of 2008 awards live on BBC TV for the superb 90 seater Amphitheatre project and community sports facilities.
The amphitheatre gives the centre a stunning focal point and acts as an unbeatable outdoor classroom.
Nell Bank was built by the Bradford Community in 1977 and the national lottery funded improvements in 2005 helped Nell Bank increase annual visitor numbers by 3,000.
The view from the amphitheatre is stunning looking across to Ilkley Moor - famous for the Yorkshire anthem 'On Ilkla moor Bah't at'. The Centre is sheltered by 100 acres of oak and bluebell woodland, bordered by beautiful farmland and one of Britains most beautiful rivers - the Wharfe flows past in its various moods at the entrance to the site.
